Hey ya'll! My name is Corinne, but I go by Rinn (like the little bird)(caw). Born and bred in Georgia, I come from a not-so-small-anymore suburb south of Atlanta. I live and breathe Major League Baseball (chop on, Braves country), i'm an absolute concert and houseplant fiend, and in the second grade, I wrote a fictional short story that took me to a state-sanctioned writing competition for kids. Looking back, that ought to have been my family's sign that their daughter would grow to love the English language so profoundly.
I graduated in 2020 from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, GA with a BA in English Composition & Publication and a minor in Journalism. In the spring of 2020, the world transcended into uncertainty with the outbreak of COVID-19, and so did my career plans. With little success on the job market out of undergrad, I took a gap year to strategize.
With little success on the job market out of undergrad, I took a gap year to strategize. In the fall of 2021, I returned to school to pursue a Master of Arts in Professional Writing (MAPW) from Kennesaw State University.
As an MAPW student, I focused in Applied Writing and Composition & Rhetoric. I made the most of my master's coursework by securing certificates in Writing for International Audiences and Professional & Academic Editing.
The scholarly gods even blessed me with a position at the university as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and after my graduation in December 2023, I returned to the classroom as a part-time instructor of English at KSU!
As an English major, my career path always felt forked. I'd always been met with, "You must want to teach if you are an English major." The truth is that I never fancied myself in education, despite working in two writing centers and being high school math tutor for five years.
Writers wear many hats, but teacher is but one identity I carry. I'll always chase the gratification that comes with the act of writing itself, and I've found that early on in my career as a contractor/freelancer. In my current role, every day is literally an opportunity to do something different.
I always say I'm like a Swiss army knife because I've picked up so many skills over the last several years. so far, I think I'm living up to that claim. I've done everything from guest posting, marketing outreach, and link building to blogging, web content writing, and content development.
so...what's next? let's connect!
