major assignment: multimodal rhetorical analysis

as someone whose love for writing stems from being able to write about their interests, hobbies, and passions, i want to give my students the opportunity write about those same things. with this approach, i hope my students will see the beauty in sharing the things they love with others through writing.

for that reason, all three of my assignments will be anchored by the same concept: discourse communities. for their second major assignment, my students will be doing a digital rhetorical analysis on a piece of media that represents their discourse community in contemporary popular culture.
