the major assignment sheets for both courses are structured according to backward course design practices and the TILT framework.
i want both my students and i to enjoy the narrative unit when i teach ENGL 1101. so, with this narrative assignment, i give my students the opportunity to talk about their passions, hobbies, and interests through a discourse community narrative.
all three of my assignments will be anchored by the same concept: discourse communities. for the second major assignment, students will do a rhetorical analysis on a piece of digital media that represents their discourse community in contemporary popular culture.
